A loan of $725 helped to buy agricultural chemicals to plant chiltoma peppers.

José Ángel's story

José is from the community of La Sabana, located 10 km from the city of Estelí, a community dedicated to farming and livestock activities. José is married and has three children, two of them school aged. He is described as a humble, hardworking and honest man.

This is his seventh loan and the previous loans had a big impact, since he has harvested different types of vegetables and with the profits has improved his family's financial stability.

WIth the loan, he is going to buy agricultural chemicals. He is preparing some land to plant chiltoma peppers and thus obtain a harvest after three or four months and sell it at a good price. José has a lot of experience growing vegetables such as chiltoma peppers, tomatoes, etc. because for 40 years he has been doing this type of work. The land he is going to use for the vegetables is suitable for this and he also has an irrigation system.

He is grateful to Kiva for the support offered, since this allows him to produce food for his city and thus generate work for at least two families in his community and for him personally, the development of his family's economy.
