A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase 8 sacks of fertilizer and rent a field to plant irrigated crops.

Miguel Ángel's story

Miguel is 63 years old and never attended school. His wife takes care of their home and their three children live independently, but help with the farming. His wife and two grandchildren live with him.

He has worked as a farmer all of his life and learned the work from his parents. He has also worked for 18 years transporting people in a canoe from one side of the river to the other. This work is 300 meters from his house and he works from 4:00am until 7:00pm.

He is requesting this loan to purchase eight sacks of fertilizer and also to rent a field to cultivate irrigated crops. Thanks to this loan, he will be able to have a better production of his crops and be able to earn more income for his family. Miguel also wants to have a small number of livestock along with someone to care for them. This will generate income and his children and grandchildren can have a source of work. He would also like to make improvements to his home.
