Lauben is 37 years of age and a tea grower in Nyakazinga-kibazi – Kyamuhunga. He has five children and they all go to school. He also has one additional dependent who does work for him at home. His major source of income is tea growing which he started in 2007 with the motive of having a steady source of income. He gives the tea business an average of 6 hours per day, and this has helped him to harvest more quantities of tea.

In addition to the tea growing business, he also grows pineapples and bananas which are his other sources of income. His clients are mainly the Igara tea factory and tea traders in the area. He hopes to use the loan money of one million UGX (1,000,000) to buy fertilizers for his tea plantation. He hopes that the tea plantation will expand with time and the harvest and sales will increase and hence increase profits. His major challenge is unfavorable weather conditions which negatively affect the quantity harvested.
