Siah's story

Please meet 31-year-old Siah from Buchanan, which is the capital city of Grand Bassa County and is located by the sea. It is well known for its beaches and delicious fish. Many logging companies are also based in the city. Residents of the city love eating fufu, a cassava-based dough typically eaten with soup or sauce. Most people in the city speak Bassa, one of the indigenous languages of Liberia.

Siah is a college student and is married. She describes herself as a hardworking woman. Her spouse is a businessman. She has four children between 3 and 13. All of her children are in school and live at home.

Siah has a shop where she sells used clothes. She has been in business for four years and works every day for five hours per day. With this loan, Siah will buy more used clothes to resell. One of the greatest challenges that she faces is to increase her sales. She transports her goods by taxi. She started her business with money from her husband.
