Apiza's story

Apiza is 57 years old, divorced and is raising two children. Apiza has higher education. She does animal husbandry as a main source of income for her family which she started 24 years ago with the purchase of cattle for an amount of 8,000 som (KGS). Thanks to her hard work Apiza now has four milk cows, thirty sheep and also a plot of land in the size of 1.5 hectares where he annually grows corn, sunflower and potatoes. The additional source of income comes from her oldest son who is working in Russia. He sends his salary to his mother monthly to support the family. Apiza's monthly income is 10,000 KGS. With the purpose to further grow her business Apiza has come to the microfinance bank Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan in the amount of 80,000 KGS to buy cows for feeding and resale. She plans to invest the income from the loan into further increase of the headcount of livestock and plans to save money to repair the house.
