A loan of $3,400 helped a member to replenish her stock of beer, wine, water, and juice to resell.

Mabomba Mengi Group's story

Victoria, who is married with four children, is running a business selling different drinks such as beers, sodas, juices, and spirits for five years now. She is in her early 40s and doing great in her business. She works from 4 p.m. to midnight daily and is able to make a good profit per month.

This will be Victoria's fifth loan request, which she will use to replenish her stock of beer, wine, water and juice to resell. She used her previous loans to buy a motorcycle, a freezer, and more business chairs.

With the business profit earned, she bought house utensils and a fridge, renovated her house, bought new iron sheets, and paid for home expenses. Victoria's dream is to buy a car of her own.

She will share this loan with her loan group, Mabomba Mengi, which consist of nine members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
