A loan of $325 helped to buy a cow.

Margarita Del Carmen's story

Margarita is 43 years old, married, and has two children, ages 10 and 15. She has a ninth grade education. She rises at 5:00 am, along with her children, whom she sends to school while she works as a merchant and her husband as s farmer.

She sells seasonal fruits such as avocado, jocote, izote flower, etc. She learned this from her mother and buys her products around her home and then sells them in the market. She also sells milk and has three cows.

She needs this loan to buy a cow from a relative, which will help her produce more milk and the sale of this milk will generate enough income for her to support her family. In the future she wants to buy a vehicle so she can move the products she sells in the market more easily, and so she can also travel to other places and buy more products for the business.
