A loan of $2,875 helped a member to buy ingredients.

Sector Minero Group's story

The “SECTOR MINERO” communal bank will begin its second cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Villa Exaltación center. It’s made up of nine members and run by a board of directors where Gloria serves as the president.

The members’ businesses include quinoa sales, food sales, neighborhood stores, plastic sales, candy sales, sweater making, and CD sales.

This loan will benefit these small companies including Gloria’s. She says that it’s her first time with Pro Mujer and joined on the invitation of another member. She sells food and started this business several years ago, having seen the sales that this product has.

She will use the money to buy vegetables and rice in the fairs around El Alto. She will then use them to prepare food at her point of sale. This work allows her to generate income to benefit her household however possible. She is married and has three children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the savings and health benefits.

In this group: Gloria Gregoria, Magda Melissa, Ruth Esther, Celena, Felipa Claudia, Petrona , Juana Elena, Jose Manuel, Cristina
