A loan of $500 helped to buy fertilizer for his corn and bean crops, herbicides to treat the weeds, and to pay laborers.

Mardoqueo's story

Mardoqueo is a young, 27-year-old entrepreneur. Since he was a child, he has enjoyed working in the country, cultivating land and raising livestock. Currently, he has a common-law wife. His life partner works in the home and cares for their one-year-old son. Mardoqueo makes an effort to finish all of his work on time, so he is able to dedicate a lot of time to his family.

He learned the agricultural trade from his father, who was a pioneer in teaching him this employment source, due to the scarce resources that they had. Currently, Mardoqueo works as a herder in the morning and, in the afternoons, he farms to have the necessary grains with which he can nourish his family. He has to travel some 25 minutes to the corrals where his employer's livestock is. He makes this trip on a motorcycle, since it would take him over an hour to walk there. He travels with his brother, who works for the same employer.

With the loan, he will buy fertilizer for his corn and bean crops. He will alsp purchase herbicides to treat the weeds. This investment will cost around $300. The rest of the money will be used to pay laborers that help him through the cultivation process. This way, he will be sure that he will have the help necessary to complete all of his work on time. Additionally, the cost of purchasing and transporting the goods will be lower since he will buy everything at once.

In the future, he hopes that his son will become a person who likes to work hard to provide for his family. He also wants to see his son grow up in a community free of crime and without problems with his neighbors, and that he takes a religious path.
