A loan of $550 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Rayda's story

Rayda, age 47, is married to Mauro, age 46. They have 4 children, but only the youngest lives in their home. For thirty years, she has worked by farming potatoes and peas. Following each harvest, she sells them in the wholesale market in her city. Now the dedication and efforts required of her are multiplied because her spouse and faithful companion is working at a company constructing a hydroelectric plant, leaving her to care for the crops alone. Rayda is considering hiring workers to help her to plant potatoes this season. In this way she could dedicate more time to the care of her animals, including pigs, bulls, donkeys and lambs.

This is her fourth loan with Kiva, where she seeks the financial support necessary to achieve her plans. Additionally, she promises to make her payments promptly. Rayda will invest 1,500 soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to nourish her fields.
