Luz's story

Luz is thirty-four years old. She is married to Aquiles and has two children. They all live together in their own house. Luz makes a living in agriculture, and is a hardworking woman dedicated to cultivating potatoes, peas, and corn. She also raises animals, like cows and bulls. She is able to get a good quantity of milk from them in order to make cheese, which she sells in a nearby city. She makes good profits. She has been working in agriculture and livestock for more than twenty years. The thing she likes most about her work is the fact that she puts what her parents taught her into practice. She also says that she is good at sales, and that after each harvest, she sells her products at the wholesale market in her town. In addition to her work, she also dedicates herself to cooking daytime meals for the laborers who work the nearby land. After harvesting the potatoes, she thinks she will plant peas and another variety of potatoes. She will do this without neglecting her animals. This is her fourth loan with Kiva, and she is grateful for the financial support she receives in order to continue moving forward. She furthermore promises to pay her installments in a punctual manner. Luz will invest her 3,000 soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer that will nourish her crops.
