Easter Group
In this Group: Emelita , Antonia , Donnalyn , Florence , Maricel
Easter is a group of five Filipino women who came to Lebanon to work as housekeepers because of the burden they suffered from in their hometown. Emelita is the featured borrower of Easter Group. Because they have been close friends since they arrived in Lebanon, she and her group members got together to apply for a loan from Kiva partner Al Majmoua.

Emelita is a 44-year-old divorced mother of two who works as a housekeeper to provide her beloved children with a healthy living and education. Her portion of the loan will be sent to her children in the Philippines to cover most of their increasing needs. Emelita is the first lady standing at the right. Antonia is the one wearing yellow, Donnalyn is in the middle, Florence is the second from the left, and Maricel is the first from the left.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
