A loan of $975 helped to purchase pants, blouses, shirts, jewelry and children's clothing for resale at her business.

Yohanna Monserrate's story

The Community Bank, "Unión de Mujeres" (Women's Union) meets every two weeks in Calceta, a lovely city known for its beautiful women. The residents of Calceta love their hometown, and for them there is no better place on earth.

Yohanna is 31 years old and is married with two children, ages 12 and 9. Her children are in school, and her husband works as a mason. Yohanna is a member of the Community Bank and works as a nursing assistant. To supplement her nursing job, she also runs a jewelry and clothing business and travels door to door selling merchandise from catalogs. She arranges payment plans for her clients in cash or on credit, and collects payments every two weeks. She has 9 years of experience in this trade.

With the support from this loan, Yohanna plans to purchase merchandise to stock her business, including pants, blouses, shirts, jewelry and children's clothing. She has been a member of the Community Bank for 7 years now, and she is very grateful for the support and opportunities she has received. Her dream is to give her children a bright future.
