Elsa Albina's story

Elsa is a 19 year old young woman who has been selling bread and natural soft drinks for a number of years. She lives with her life’s partner and they have a daughter who is less than a year old. Besides being a housewife, she works with her husband to prepare the items for sale each day so that they can be distributed to the surrounding communities.

She buys all of the supplies she needs to make her daily sales in large quantities so that the price is better. The price will go up and her profits will go down if she buys individually or in small quantities. She travels to town, up to 35 km away, but there are also local stores where she can buy her supplies and not have to pay for travel every day. She also needs to buy fresh products in order to have better quality.

She will use the money from this loan to buy fruit, chicken, vegetables, bread, and other supplies that she needs for her daily sales and to run electricity into her house. They currently get it from a nearby home and she wants to have her own electricity and improve her house a bit.

This loan will allow her to invest in her business so that she can meet her customer demands. She also wants to have a dignified home with no risk for her family.

She has gone through some very rough financial times in the past few years and this new project should provide long range financial stability. Part of the plan is for the business to become self-sustaining. This increased income will provide more security and stability to her family.

She sees herself as always having her business in the future. Although she only has one salesperson now, she wants to have two in the future and increase over time. She also plans to have another child so that her son will not grow up alone and so that he has someone to share his parents’ love with. She and her husband want to continue improving their house little by little, since it needs repair, so that the walls don’t get wet when it rains. They also want to install a concrete floor.
They live in an adobe house and it needs much improvement. They will accomplish their goals with the help of Fundación Campo.
