A loan of $2,825 helped a member purchase detergent for resale.

Buena Esperanza Cajata Pampa Group's story

The communal bank "Buena Esperanza Cajata Pampa" will begin its first term in Pro Mujer as part of the Achacachi regional office. It is comprised of eight members, and is run by a board of directors with Ms. Carmen as the president. The members run a wide variety of businesses, including the sales of vegetables, weaving of sweaters and blankets, sales of cattle, fruits, other foods, and detergents.

This loan will benefit the group of small businesses where Carmen is a member. She said that this was their first loan with Pro Mujer and that they joined at the invitation of a Pro Mujer promoter who came to visit her at her house. Currently, she runs a business selling detergents. She learned the business from her father, who loaned her a small amount of capital to start up the business.

This current loan will be used to increase her capital through the purchase of detergents, which she will get from the stores in the city of El Alto, and then sell in her sales location. This work allows her to earn money towards maintaining her home, as she is married and has four children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she said that she likes the training that she gets about credit and health.

In this group: Carmen Beatriz, Silvia, Rufina, Angélica , Norah Esperanza, Alicia, Nohra, Sonia
