A loan of $2,425 helped to buy a buffalo for getting milk to sell.

Tanveer's story

Tanveer is a 30-year-old married man living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. He is a responsible son; his parents like him a lot due to his care. Tanveer has owned a dairy farm in his town since 1993. Ali gets milk from buffalo two times a day, which is very hard work for a single person. A few days ago one of his cattle suddenly died due to a fatal disease. Also, his cowshed cracked, has water leaks on rainy days, and needs maintenance. These damages are highly affecting his sales.

Tanveer wants to buy a buffalo and maintain his cowshed but he has insufficient savings. He requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so that he could overcome these deficiencies and continue his business smoothly. From his profits, Tanveer would like to start his own livestock breeding business, since he has now acquired sufficient experience in this business. He wants to hire an assistant to help him in his daily tasks. Tanveer is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
