A loan of $5,200 helped a member to restock the missing items in the shop inventory.


Red Rose Group's story

Rabeninsia, who is in her late 30s, is married with three children who are still going to school. She has been running a general store since the year 2000. She works from 6:00 am to 1:00 am (after mid-night) per working day and she is able to make a good monthly profit. This will be her 16th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to expand the retail shop until it is now a really big shop. She started selling cold drinks in the same shop and other different items like mosquito sprays, cigarettes, soaps etc. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to build her own house, paid school fees and helped her husband with household expenses.She will use this loan to restock the missing items in the shop inventory. She dreams of opening a hardware shop. Rabeninsia will share this loan with her loan group "Red Rose" which consist of 13 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
