A loan of $2,025 helped a member to buy clothing.

Virgen De Bronce (Cuenca) Group's story

The "Virgen de Bronce" communal bank is made up of seven women who live in a beautiful neighborhood in Cuenca. This city was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1999. Four rivers run through the city and there are many places where one can enjoy nature. The diverse gastronomy captivates the city's visitors. Its people, like these members, are friendly people who fight every day to improve their financial stability and give their children a better future. They still keep the culture and traditions of their people alive.

One of the members of this group is Jessica, 19. She is married with two children, ages 2 and 5. Her husband works as a private employee. They don't have their own house, so they live independently in an aunt's house.

Jessica makes a living selling clothing, perfume, and cosmetics from various brands. She has been in this business for three years. She works from Sunday to Sunday without a fixed schedule, since she sells her products door-to-door. She is also studying to finish her high school degree.

She will invest this loan in the purchase of clothing to continue growing her business.

In this group: Blanca Magdalena, Narcisa De Jesús, Susana Natalia, Gabriela Tatiana, Jessica Antonela, Candida Marcela, Gladys Isabel
