A loan of $3,450 helped a member to buy rice, noodles, and oil.

Zapatito Veloz De Ventilla Group's story

The Communal Bank “Zapatito Velos de Ventilla” is starting its third loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Senkata Community Center. This group consists of eight members and is led by a Board of Directors in which Sra. Jhanet serves as the treasurer. The members of this Communal Bank engage in various businesses such as selling low-cost goods, managing a neighborhood store, selling food, and working as a chauffeur.

This loan will benefit small entrepreneurs such as Sra. Jhanet. She says that she joined Pro Mujer two years ago after receiving an invitation from a friend who is a member of the organization. Jhanet currently has a business where she sells food. She started this business after having worked with her mother for several years. Over the course of time, she decided to continue in the same line of work since it is a good business.

The loan she is receiving now will be used to increase her capital for buying rice, noodles, and oil. She will acquire these supplies from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz and then use them for making the dishes that she sells from her vending space. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to support her family. Jhanet is in a common-law relationship and has one child.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Jhanet said that she enjoys the loans, the savings, the training seminars, and the health services.

In this group: Celia , Primitiva , Sabina, Jhanet Angelica , Bernardo , Emiliana, Fidela Sandra , Magdalena
