A loan of $3,875 helped a member to buy wool for knitting sweaters.

Pricesitas Del Amor Group's story

The Communal Bank “Princesitas del Amor” (Little Princesses of Love) is in its seventh loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes Community Center. This group consists of eight members and is led by a Board of Directors headed by Sra. Claudia as its president. The members of this Communal Bank engage in various businesses such as selling dairy products, selling coffee, making handicrafts, selling food, selling soft drinks, selling sweets, and weaving blankets.

This loan will benefit small entrepreneurs such as Sra. Claudia. She says that she joined Pro Mujer seven years ago after receiving an invitation from a friend who is a member of the organization. Claudia currently has a sewing business in which she makes sweaters. She started this business after she learned her knitting technique and now her business has been a great help.

The loan she is receiving now will be used to increase her capital for buying wool, which she will acquire from the wholesale vendors in the city of El Alto. She will then use the material to make the products she sells from her retail space. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to support her family. Claudia is married and has three children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Claudia said that she enjoys obtaining credit as a group.

In this group: Claudia, Angelica, Tania , Virginia , Mayra Yenifer, Gregoria, Melania, Neli Marleni
