Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is 31 years old, married and has two children who live with her in her adobe house. She used to work in agriculture because her parents worked in this trade and taught her how to do it. When she was 18, she got married and had her first child, and because she had to stay at home to look after him, she decided to start selling food products from home such as milk, sugar, rice and other products in high demand. She has been working in this área for many years has now decided that it would benefit her to change the focus of her business and start up a restaurant with her brother. One of her main objectives is to have many food-selling businesses in her area and in the capital of her district. She hopes that this will generate more income for her and a better quality of life. This is her first Kiva loan and she fells grateful for the financial support that she is receiving to be able to get ahead, She also pledges to make timely payments. On this occasion, she is asking for 2000 nuevos soles to renovate the premises in which she plans to start her restaurant.
