A loan of $1,250 helped to buy agricultural products for her coffee plants.

Cirila Suyapa's story

Suyapa, is an enterprising and determined 38 year old women who works at home doing household tasks from the early hours of the morning and is also a farmer specialising in growing corn, beans and coffee. She learned to work from a young age as she enjoyed the process of growing crops, realising that there is more to it then digging a hole and planting a seed - it is also the care, fertilisation, cleaning etc. that produce good crops. She also learnt to make tamales and bread from her mother-in-law and she and her eldest daughter sell these products.

She is a mother of 5 children, of which 2 are in secondary school, 2 are in primary school and the youngest is still at home. Alongside her husband, she works hard daily to fulfill her dream of seeing her children with university educations and a better quality of life and a better future.

Today, she is asking for a loan to buy agricultural products to protect her coffee, corn and beans, such as 8 bags of nutricafe, 7 bags of formula 18-46-0, 6 bags of urea, 7 bags of fertiliser and 3 litres of alto 10 SL.
