Narayani Mission Shakti Self Help Group's story

Khulana is a 46-year-old lady living with her husband and her two children. She runs a snacks stall in her village; she has a few years of experience in this activity. She sells snack items like samosas (fried dough stuffed with potato curry), 'Idli' (a popular recipe of south Indian origin made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented black lentils and rice), 'Wada' (lentil doughnuts) etc. in her shop.

She wants to expand her business by selling more of the items she sells now and to make a display case for her shop for the products she cooks. She says that doing so will attract more customers to her shop.

Khulana, along with her group, has requested a loan amount of 240,000 INR. She wants to utilize her portion of the loan for purchasing raw materials like potatoes, spices, edible oil, lentils, rice, etc. and for making a display case for her shop. She has a dream of having her children study in a good school and saving some money for their future.
