Ann Maa Beleswari Self Help Group has 10 members who are all from the same neighbourhood. The lady sitting second from the right hand side, wearing a blue saree in the photo, is Kuni, the leader of the group.

Kuni is a 41-year-old married woman from Balipatna village of Odisha, India. The couple has two children who are schooling. Kuni lives with her children and, together with her husband, takes care of all the household expenses. For the past five years she has been involved in the activity of growing and selling vegetables; her husband helps her in this activity. All the members of this group are engaged other different kinds of activities like agriculture, cattle farming, etc. In order to strengthen the business and respond to customer demand, Kuni, together with her group Ann Maa Beleswari Self Help Group, has requested a loan amount of 100,000 INR for purchasing vegetable plants, seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Their goal is to expand their business activities.
