A loan helped to purchase more fish to resell.

Mariama's story

Mariama is in her late thirties and is married with two children, aged 10 and 13 years old. She runs a fish business in Tombo Western rural area in Sierra Leone. She started this business to strive for her daily bread.

Mariama has been in this business since just after she got married, and sells fish within her community. She says that at present she is facing insufficient capital to run her business and transportation problems.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more fish to resell. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her increase her business and take good care of her family. In the future, she would like to buy a boat for her husband. She is grateful for your support.
