Abdul's story

This 33-year-old, married man is Abdul W., a resident of Ningarhar province. He is the father of five children and the only breadwinner for them.

Abdul W. and his family live in a small rental house in Jalalabad. His two children go to school, but in their spare time, they help their parents at their work.

Abdul W. has been working as a tailor besides his farming and animal husbandry for about 10 years. Before that, he worked in Peshawar (Pakistan) in this field, but when he returned to his homeland, he changed his business and started farming. After a few months, he found himself confronted with a lot of financial problems, because his father was facing some serious illnesses and W. had to spend his own money for his father's treatment. This is the reason that W. lost his capital. Then he borrowed some money from one of his friends and opened a small tailor shop in Behsood district.

As Abdul W. is a hard-working man, he was able to repay the loan just in four months, and finally he bought some new tailoring machines and recruited two other workers for his business.

Now, Abdul W. hopes to expand his business more and increase his daily income, because he wants to enroll his children in some private educational courses and also rent a bigger house for his family. At present, they are living in a small rental house which has just two rooms with a small courtyard.

Therefore, Abdul W. has decided to take a 50,000 Afghanis loan from AFSG for a term of 24 months. He wants to purchase some cloth for the shop with 30,000 Afghanis and buy a cow with remainder of the loan money. He thinks if he does this, he may able to achieve his goals and will bring brilliant positive changes to his life.

Abdul W. dreams of building a big house for his family and of standing on his own feet completely. He thanks the lenders who help him reach his goals in advance.
