A loan of $2,300 helped to buy three cattle and two milk cows.

Taleh's story

Taleh is 22 years old, a young client. He is married and has a one son. Taleh earns a living by breeding cows and cattle, and sells their milk and milk products as well as meat to local butchers. He has 6 years of experience in this field, thanks to his father who taught him how to look after cattle.

Taleh usually buys small cows, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months and resells them for a more profitable price to butchers. Milk and yogurt he sells to neighbors. He earns about 180 AZN a month, in part because milk, yogurt, and meat are very popular products in Azerbaijan. People use meat in everyday national dishes as pilau and dolma, and always use yogurt. Milk products are seen as very healthy and used daily.

Because his family has only one source of income, Taleh is requesting a loan for 1,800 AZN to buy three cattle and two milk cows. This will be his seventh loan. He has good client history and plans to use the additional income he earns to care for his family.
