A loan of $900 helped to purchase a specialized sewing machine (an over-stiching or finishing machine).

Yolanda De Jesús's story

Yolanda is 55 years old, married, and has no children. She has worked as an independent seamstress since 2008 and her business is located in the house where she lives. In this way she has managed to obtain the resources to maintain her family and to face the monthly expenses that are unexpected. She is a thriving woman, dedicated to her work and her family, who works arduous hours daily in order to get ahead. Currently she is asking for a loan in order to invest in the purchase of a specialized sewing machine (an overstiching machine) and in this way she will be able to complete her products on time and sell them at a better price, since her pieces will be finished well and will have great quality to satisfy the needs of her customers. That will then be reflected in her sales and income. Yolanda dreams of having a well capitalized business, with specialized machines that permit her to decrease the time of production in order to take more orders and have better income through sales. This will help her improve the quality of life for her family and will continue to support the expenses of her household.
