A loan of $1,050 helped buy suckling pigs and special feed.

Rita's story

64-year old Rita has three children and is a widow. She has spent her whole life in the countryside where her parents taught her about farming. As a result of this background Rita today raises and sells pigs. The money she earns pays for basic household necessities as she is solely responsible for these items since the death of her husband. Rita says that her age doesn't prevent her from working hard; on the contrary, her work makes her feel useful. She goes to work every day alternating between her farm duties and her other job selling propane tanks. This is another way she earns money to improve her financial situation. Rita is seeking a loan to buy suckling pigs and special feed so that she can continue her business and gradually increase production so that she gets a stable monthly income. It will also give her the opportunity to grow her business and fill orders so that her customers won't go to her competitors. This would directly affect her finances. Rita wishes to fulfill her dream of seeing her business become strong, profitable, and sustainable so that she can leave her children a good legacy and she herself can enjoy a better quality of life alongside her family.
