A loan of $1,075 helped to purchase organic fertilizer for her alfalfa crop.

Francisca's story

Francisca is 62 years old and a kind woman. She lives together with her two daughters in the house she owns. She also owns various pieces of farm land. Currently, her life centers around raising animals. She has 87 guinea pigs, 4 sheep, and a cow, all of which she cares for with a lot of dedication so that they can later be sold. Her secret is to plant alfalfa, which she uses as feed. She has also set up a room in her house to sell food on the weekends since she is well-known for the rich dishes that she cooks. She also plants Cuzco corn on her farm land, but this season she only used one parcel and rented the rest for a good price. She hopes to have a good harvest since she has worked hard caring for her crops. She wants to increase her livestock, since she used to sell an average of 300 guinea pigs and in the next season, she wants to stock her livestock for sale.

This is her third Kiva loan and she promises to be on time with her repayments since the financial support helps her improve her income. Francisca will invest this 3000 soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to nourish her alfalfa plants, which serve as feed for her animals.
