Urumkan's story

Urumkan is 52 years old, married, and the mother of two children (one daughter and one son). She has a secondary-specialized education. Her children both work in Russia and financially support her and her husband, sending them money every month. Urumkan's husband also actively helps her run her business.

Urumkan has been involved in agriculture, crop farming and animal husbandry, since 1993, providing her family with its main source of income. Having started in this business with an initial capital of 1,500 som (KGS), she now makes a monthly income of 8,000 som (KGS) from farming. Thanks to her tireless work, she now owns two dairy cows and a horse and she also uses 0.9 hectares of irrigated land on which she sows sainfoin and barley every year.

In order to further develop her farming business, Urumkan has turned to Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 135,000 som (KGS). She will use this loan to buy one cow and one horse. She plans to invest the earnings from this loan into further increasing her livestock headcount. In the future, she would also like to buy some furniture.
