A loan of $900 helped a member to buy charcoal and corn.

Ife Group's story

The IFE group is composed of three friends. M. Odounyêmi (the one raising her hand in the photo) is the group’s representative. She is 29 years old. She stopped attending school at the secondary level. Her husband’s name is Djamil Deen. They have three children, some of whom are in school, and no [other] dependants. M. Odounyêmi lives together with her husband and children. The spouses jointly provide for household needs. In order to do so, M. Odounyêmi has been selling charcoal and coal in her region for four years. She stocks up at a market in Benin. With the goal of strengthening her business, M. Odounyêmi, together with the other members of the IFE group, is seeking a fourth loan from ALIDé. Their prior loans have been duly repaid.
