A loan of $500 helped to buy agricultural supplies.

Víctor Manuel's story

Víctor’s 37-years-old and completed two years of university. He was studying for a Bachelor’s in Computer Programing. He currently has a spouse and she cares for their three children who are 12, 11 and 10 years of age and attending school.

He’s been working in agriculture for the last 13 years, an occupation he learned thanks to his brother-in-law. He also knows how to do other kinds of work like: construction, electrician and plumbing. His farmland is located 5 kilometers from home and he makes the trip by bicycle. He works alone from 6am to 5pm.

The loan will be used to buy seeds, fertilizer, herbicide and fungicide for preventive care in case any pests might attack and to plant 7,000 square meters of corn because he has no funds to do so on his own and to be able to support the crop and so that his family will not lack food.

Víctor’s dream is to build his house because the one he lives in is his brother-in-law’s. He’d also like to be able to teach the skills he knows to his children and to raise them honestly and responsibly. The loan will be of great help because they’ll not lack corn for the rest of this year and the first months of next year.
