A loan of $1,425 helped to buy fertilizers, compost, and urea for her coffee cultivations.

Rosa Nely's story

Rosa is 25 years old, in a relationship, and has two children. She has been working in agriculture for 15 years, and her speciality is the cultivation of coffee. She learnt this activity together with her partner and her parents, since they have been farmers their whole lives. Rosa has completed primary school thanks to the support of her parents.

In agriculture, coffee is a particularly delicate product and if it isn't treated in time with the necessary inputs, the whole harvest can be lost. That is why she has requested a loan from the cooperative COMIXMUL, which she will use to buy 12 kg of fertilizers, 12 kg of urea, 10 kg of coffee formula, and other things that she will use to keep her cultivation safe and healthy for the next harvest.

Her long-term goal is to expand her cultivation of coffee by buying more land, sow a type of coffee that is more competitive, and use more machinery. Her dream is to use her income to offer her family a better quality of life, better study opportunities than she had herself when she was young, and to send her children to university so that they can become resourceful persons.
