A loan of $600 helped to buy six bags of manure to fertilize 14,000 square meters of watermelon and 14,000 square meters of sesame. He will also pay for the land to be prepared for sowing, keeping in mind that the unskilled labour is like family.

Julio Alberto's story

Jose is forty-nine years old. He has worked in agriculture since he was eight. He attended school only until the second grade of primary school. He now has a partner and three children.

He purchases products in a city about twelve kilometres from his community. To do so he must hire a private vehicle to make the trip so he can buy and return home with the products.

The loan that he is requesting from Fundación Campo is to buy six bags of manure to fertilize 14,000 square meters of watermelon and 14,000 square meters of sesame. He will also pay for the land to be prepared for sowing, keeping in mind that the unskilled labour is like family.

With the loan he will fulfil the need to buy supplies and will be able to give the necessary care and fertilization to his crops at the proper time.

In the future he plans to build a decent and safe home where his children have privacy. They are all older and the bedrooms do not have divisions. This is his dream. He also wants his youngest son who is in school to continue studying and to have a career.
