Samsad’s husband is a very old person, but fully professional in his art. He creates different designs on wooden beds which are very famous in his hometown. Samsad is a very poor lady; this is the reason she could not provide education to her any kids. She is the mother of five sons and a daughter; her daughter got married.

Her one son helps his father in manufacturing wooden tables and chairs. All of her family members are doing jobs to meet their daily expenses and household expenses. Due to a lot of daily expenses, her husband is unable to buy new inventory to carry on his business. Therefore, Samsad requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, so that her husband could buy casual inventories to carry on his enterprise.

Samsad has grown old and does not see any resources in old age. It is her dream to pass her life with peace and joys; she hopes that through the profit amount, she will able to increase her savings to feed herself in old age.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
