Iyad's story

Iyad, a 31-year-old grocer from Iraq, is a married father of two children, working hard to provide for his family. In his grocery store Iyad sells soft drinks, dairy products, canned food, pickles and detergents. As a child he spent most of his time in his father’s grocery store, thereby gaining much experience in this field.

In 2012, Iyad established his own independent business. He now has one employee and is well-known in the market, having earned his customers’ respect.

Iyad is requesting a loan of 2,400 USD in order to pay the annual rent of his grocery store. He is aiming to grow more in this field so that one day he may open a second grocery store and increase his profits so as to provide better living standards for his family.
