This group is made up of eight members and is governed by a board of directors, of which Lucy is the president. The businesses that the members run are diverse and include selling dresses, transporting clothing, selling clothing, selling cosmetics, and sewing dresses. This loan will benefit the small business owners from Lucy's group.

Lucy has been involved with Pro Mujer for three years. She joined at the invitation of her mother, who is also a member. Currently, Lucy has a business supplying sacks. She began this business after observing her clients' needs. Furthermore, this business allows her to spend half of the day with her parents. Lucy will use this loan to increase her capital (to buy sacks) from festivals in El Alto. She will later sell these sacks at her store. This business allows Lucy to generate resources to bring home. She is single and lives with her family. What she likes about working with Pro Mujer is the health aspect and doctor's consultations.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
