Maria's story

María, 41, is single and has three children that depend on her; she lives in the community of San Lorenzo in the southern zone of Honduras. For the last 13 years, María has worked cutting hair and she also has a business selling jewelry. She transports herself in her vehicle to the various places where she sells this type of jewelry. María is noted for her kindness and the good way she treats people. She’s striving to get ahead and to provide a good education for her children. María is requesting the loan to stock up on beauty supplies and jewelry because the feast of Saint Lorenzo is approaching and she wants to be prepared to better provide for her customers. With support from the loan she intends to improve the business and earn higher profits. María’s dream is to grow more in her business. San Lorenzo, Honduras - July, 2013.
