A loan of $3,200 helped a member to buy pasta, rice and oil.

Bella Vista Pucarani Group's story

The “BELLA VISTA PUCARANI” communal bank will start its first cycle in Pro Mujer, as a part of the Copacabana center. It is made up of eight members and is led by a board of directors, of which Eulalia is the president. The businesses that the members of the communal bank have are varied. Among them are selling food, weaving blankets, selling cheese, selling ice cream and selling beer.

The loan they will take out will benefit the micro-businesswomen, including Eulalia. She says that this is the first time she has been a part of Pro Mujer. She joined at the invitation of a consultant from the institution who went to visit her at her house. Right now, she has a business selling food. She says that she learned this business several years ago, investing a small amount of capital that she had in it and selling at the roadside.

The loan she will take out now is to increase her capital, buying pasta, rice and oil. She will acquire them in the nearby markets and later prepare and sell the food at her sales spot. This work allows her to generate resources to support her home as much as possible. She is married and has seven children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the savings.
