A loan of $1,100 helped to buy clothing to sell.

Ana María's story

For 5 years Ana has been a member of the credit group Siempre Amigas [Always Friends]. She likes the group because of the unity, solidarity and companionship there is between all the women and because the loans allow her to improve her business and continue growing. She lives on the outskirts of the city of Cuenca, a city which was designated a World Heritage Site in December 1999. It has various sites of interest to visit, both natural and architectural. The people still preserve their culture and traditions.

Ana is 52 years old and is married with 3 daughters. Two of them are married and live independently and her single daughter works to cover her own personal expenses. Ana's husband makes jeans for a living and they live in their own home.

Ana earns a living selling the jeans which her husband makes and also sells a wide variety of clothing. She sells her merchandise in all the city's fairs and has been in this business for 30 years.

She will use the loan to buy clothing. Her goal is to continue growing her business.
