A loan of $975 helped purchase a dairy cow.

Silvia María's story

Silvia is a member member of the loan group "14th of August," and lives in the area of the parish of Zhidmad in Cuenca, a lush area blessed with green fields and unparalleled tranquility. The people there are friendly and courteous, and they live their lives dedicated to the hard work they learned from their parents, raising animals and agriculture. Many also live in the city doing many kinds of work, but they still maintain the culture and traditions of the villages.

Silvia is 54 years old. She and her partner have five children. Three of whom are married and live on their own, and they have two single daughters who work and help out economically. Her husband is in the wood industry and runs a saw. They live in their own home.

Silvia raises guinea pigs, chickens, and dairy cows. She also keeps a garden for the household, selling any extra produce.

This is her fourth loan through the group, and it will be invested in the purchase of a dairy cow. Her goal is to have more animals to raise.
