Margarita's story

Margarita is 40 years old and married with one daughter, with whom she lives in her own home. Margarita works selling food products; she supplies her business by going every two days to the wholesale market in her city, where she buys the products that are most popular with her customers. The products in highest demand are also the most basic products, such as rice, sugar, oil, eggs, milk, bananas, grains, cold cuts and carbonated beverages. Margarita’s store is located at the front of her home and she has a large clientele due to the fact that there is no other similar business nearby. Margarita has had this store for three years and she usually works alone. She likes her work very much because it gives her time to do other things and earn extra income. At this time, Margarita is applying for a loan of S/. 1,000; she is grateful and happy about the possibility of receiving the financial support she needs to continue with her business. With this loan, Margarita will purchase merchandise for her store, such as rice, eggs, milk and oil, as well as other products.
