A loan of $1,025 helped to purchase spare parts.

Yaya's story

Yaya is a married man, 27 years old and the father of one child. He lives with his wife and child at his aunt's home in the Massable Coura neighborhood of Bougouni.

Without having received formal education, Yaya began working at an early age at income-generating activities, such as motorcycle repair, before finally settling on purchase and resale of spare parts. Now with 3 years of experience, he is much sought after and appreciated in Bougouni.

In order to meet his customers' needs and grow his business, Yaya is again joining with Soro Yiriwaso to purchase 10 "Djakarta" motorcycle tires, 15 bicycle tires, 10 "Djakarta" motorcycle batteries, two key rings, 10 air tubes and 10 pistons in Bamako. He is on his third loan with Soro Yiriwaso and both previous loans were fully repaid. With this loan, Yaya hopes to earn a monthly profit of 65,000 francs CFA. He plans to use this profit to grow his business, pay the loan interest, and build a home.
