Djeneba's story

Mademoiselle Djénéba is single, 25 years old and mother to 1 child. She lives with her child at the home of her parents in the Torakabougou neighborhood of Bougouni.

Mademoiselle Djénéba has a diploma in secretarial management. After having received her diploma, she went a long time without having a job. Thus in order to meet her needs she decided to manage businesses that would generate income, notably buying and selling clothing, shoes and perfumes. She learned this business from her friend and her mother. With 5 years experience, she has mastered her business. To obtain a consistent working capital she decided to join Soro Yiriwaso to buy 20 pieces of pagnes [African fabric], 10 cartons of perfumes and 10 pairs of shoes of different qualities. She is on her third loan with Soro Yiriwaso and both preceding loans were correctly repaid.

She gets her supplies in Bamako (capital of the republic of Mali) and sometimes in Burkina. She sells from home and in the different neighborhoods of Bougouni. Most of her clients are women. With this loan, she plans to make a monthly profit of 30,000 FCFA. With her profits she envisions improving her business, helping her parents with the family expenses, and paying the interest.
