A loan of $1,200 helped a member to buy fertilizer, to pay for plowing fees, and to buy insecticide.

Chaily's Group's story

Chaily is a local farmer from Kampong Cham province. She covers her daily food consumption via rice cropping on a one hectare area and by working for others, for a fee. This is the business that she has occupied for ages. Chaily is a second-time borrower with VisionFund Cambodia (Kiva‘s partner). The past loan which she has repaid has enabled her to support her living and her business on-time. She managed to buy household appliances for her family, too. Now, in a group of four, she is the leader. Chaily and her joint borrowers are each seeking the same loan amount of KHR 1,200,000. Chaily will spend her loan portion to buy fertilizer, to pay for plowing fees, and to buy insecticide for her farmland. She hopes to replant her crop in a timely manner and to get a good yield.
