A loan of $375 helped to maintain his vehicle.

Maximo's story

Maximo is 62 years old and he is married to Victoria. They have 3 children and the family lives in a home made of adobe. Maximo works in passenger transportation, moving people between different areas in the region, and there are a lot of people that need his services. Initially, he rented the vehicles that he drove and operated a "colectivo" service, but thanks to his savings, he was able to buy his first vehicle.

Maximo drives through various areas in the region, transporting passengers that sometimes become friends and that make his work comforting. On occasion, the rain is inconvenient because many of the streets he uses are not paved, and this makes the driving more complicated.

As time goes by, he hopes to continue working because he is motivated to reach his goals, which are to repair his vehicle and also to improve his home's construction with better materials. This is his first loan with Kiva and he is very thankful for the financial support that he is receiving so that he can get ahead. Also, he promises to comply with the repayment schedule and to always pay punctually. He is seeking a loan of 1,000 soles so that he can do preventive maintenance to his vehicle and to keep it in an optimal condition since it is his main source of income.
