A loan of $375 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Vilma's story

Vilma, 29, lives in her own house made of wood. She works in agriculture.

From a young age, she was always at her parents' side. She helped them with various farm activities related to the production of organic products, such as cocoa and barbasco, among others. She enjoys her work because she likes to work outside, doing various types of farm labor, so she maintains her cocoa plantations well. She is currently responsible for two hectares of her family's land where they have many cocoa plantations. This land produces good-quality pods, one of the area's favorites.

To maintain and optimize her harvests, she tends to fertilize her plots with organic fertilizer. This is her first Kiva loan, and she feels grateful for the financial help she is receiving to continue moving ahead. She is also committed to paying her installments on time. She would like 1,000 Peruvian soles to buy organic fertilizer so she can continue fertilizing her land.
