A loan of $600 helped to fix the gear box on his vehicle.

Ramón De Jesús's story

Ramón, 59, is married and has six children. He lives with his wife, 50; a daughter-in-law, 25; and his four grandchildren, who are around 6 years old. He only studied up to ninth grade. He gets up at 5 a.m. with his wife and daughter-in-law, who depend on the work he does.

He does agricultural labor such as growing corn, which he learned from his parents. He walks a kilometer to get to his land and works with his wife in the morning. Later, in the afternoon, he provides transportation with a vehicle he has had for 10 years.

The loan he's requesting from Fundación Campo is to change the gear box on his vehicle so it's in good condition for making trips and to avoid any mishap.

His goal is to buy a mill and be able to make dairy products such as cheeses and cream. This way, in the future he'll be able to build a decent brick house for his family, because his current house is made of adobe.
