A loan of $5,375 helped to purchase a larger refrigerator and oven and to buy new equipment.

Natalie's story

This loan will help Natalie grow her new restaurant in Brooklyn.

Originally from Trinidad, Natalie moved to the U.S. as a young adult and quickly found a passion for the entertainment and hospitality industry. After working for years as a successful event planner for big parties in New York City, Natalie recently decided it was time to make two big life changes: she became a mother and opened her own restaurant, D’Savannah Restaurant and Bar, in Brooklyn. Pregnant throughout the planning and organization of the restaurant’s opening, Natalie now has both a healthy newborn and a business that is already gaining a loyal clientele.

D’Savannah specializes in Caribbean style drinks, offers a full bar, and serves small food plates. Natalie is happy that she is able to share her native culture with her New York community and bring in a diverse range of customers to her bar. Natalie did not anticipate D’Savannah to immediately attract such a large number of customers, and she now needs a loan to purchase a larger refrigerator and oven as well as new kitchen equipment in order to keep up with the restaurant’s high demand.
